On 15 July, while performing their daily job, Traffic Management Operatives Ben Charnock and Colliston Edwards were faced with a serious and potentially dangerous situation when they identified a child being bullied by other youths.
Without hesitation, Ben and Colliston intervened and dispersed the crowd. They escorted the child back to school and reported the incident.
Events could have ended very differently that night, but their quick thinking and willingness to help de-escalated the situation and prevented matters spiralling out of control.
In unpredictable situations, the easy option is to not get involved but Ben and Colliston are shining examples of why it is so important to support each other and how our communities could be safer, better places if we do.
