We believe this is the ideal time to celebrate the hard work and success of our workers, who have coped admirably in the face of adversity, to recognise the heroic actions of them which, until now, has gone unnoticed.
Speaking about becoming a judge, Louise Cope, Managing Director of GTM, said: “I was absolutely delighted to have been invited to be among the Judges for our fourth Highways Heroes Awards.
“Everyday across the Highways Sector we hear or read a story where one of our teams have done something that simply takes your breath away. Whenever I have had the pleasure of speaking to some of those involved its always the same conversation, “…you would have done the same”, “…it’s just part of the job”, “….I was just trying to help out” or the ever popular “…I was just in the right place at the right time.
“From acts of bravery to acts of kindness and everything in between our teams are amazing and especially after the last year we have all experienced I thinks it is great that we take this opportunity to stop – take a breath – and celebrate just some of these stories, recognise their impact and the extraordinary actions and commitments shown from the Highways Heroes who go to work every day across our Sector.”
