Highways Heroes introduce charitable Legacy Foundation.
Following the announcement of the intention to donate 10% of our profits to social value causes, Highways Heroes are pleased to announce the formation of its own charitable foundation to manage the process.
The foundation will now embark on a process of appointing a number of trustees to manage decision making around which social value projects will be supported and to engage with supply chain partners to create best practice.
Every year the Heroes Awards donate 10% of our profits as well as time and expertise to social value projects from across the UK as we strive to improve the communities in which we work.
Our programmes support the homeless, offer second chances to young adults, opportunities for rehabilitating ex offenders as well as those experiencing homelessness and addiction and create pathways into the engineering sector, all of which serve to empower future generations to look upon our sector as a career of choice rather than one of last resort.
Speaking about the launch of the Legacy Foundation, Managing Director and Founder of the Highways Heroes awards, Kevin Robinson said,
"For a number of year's the Highways Heroes have delivered immense social vale across our sector by recognising our unsung heroes.
" The creation of the heroes Legacy Foundation now enables us to build on this and to deliver real social value in the communities we serve.
“The creation of a legacy and tapping into the workforce of tomorrow is something which is vital to provide a sustainable future for all of us, but most importantly we all have a social responsibility to provide the next generation, and indeed the lost generation of today, with pathways to many of the wonderful careers we have to offer.”
As a part of the pledge the Highways Heroes will work with a number of organisations across the UK with achievements highlighted throughout the year through our own media platforms and those of our partners to encourage others to join our journey.
