The Highways Heroes Awards are delighted to announce a new award for 2023 designed to recognise the cinsistent achievements of an individual over the course of their career and the lasting impact that they have made upon our sector.
Launched in consultation with the sector and indeed the judges, the award is unique as it recognises an individual have has consistency made a lasting impact upon those around them over a prolonged period of time.
Speaking about the unveiling of the new award, Iain MacDonnald, Judge of the Highways Heroes and Business Development Director at SRL said,
"“For the first time in Highways’ Heroes history, we’re delighted to introduce a Lifetime Achievement award, recognising those who have made an outstanding contribution to the sector. The Lifetime Achievement award acknowledges those who lead by example; those who inspire, motivate, and innovate. We can all think of someone who influences us, or perhaps someone who has mentored and shaped our careers. Now, it’s time to thank them.
“It’s important to recognise the sustained efforts and unwavering commitment that so many of our industry colleagues put forth, every single day. I’m delighted that the Highways Heroes team have introduced this new accolade. Good luck to all nominees!”
Taking place at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London on November 30th the awards will recognise those who have gone above and beyond their duty, to help someone or improve a situation, either in the communities they work in or to unconditionally support fellow workers in their team.
The Highways Heroes Awards come after a time of unprecedented change not only in our industry, but as part of our everyday lives. We believe this is the ideal time to celebrate the hard work and success of our workers, who have coped admirably in the face of adversity, to recognise the heroic actions of them which, until now, has gone unnoticed.
Whether its saving someone from danger or risk of injury, helping a member of the public to safety, or supporting a team member in the face of abuse, you or a member of your team could be named a Highways Hero as part of this new and unique awards.
The Highways Heroes will be judged by their peers, led by Kevin Robinson, Chief Executive of Safer Highways and Sian Whittaker, Managing Director, Reliance at Arcadis.
